Annual Inspections
BOILERS
As required by law, once a year all boilers, both of low and high pressure, in all commercial buildings, as well as mixed use buildings, and dwellings with six or more families, must get inspected by building owners for operational safety and to ensure compliance with the NYC Building Code and other regulations.
Owners must annually certify to the Dept. of Buildings that their boilers have been inspected by a qualified professional entity. Not only will you abide by the law by having an annual inspection, it may also prolong the life of your boiler as well, preventing unnecessary headaches with no hot water calls.
BACKFLOW PREVENTION DEVICES

- Lead has been detected by the New York City Department of Environmental Protection (NYCDEP) at some homes with lead service lines, or internal fixtures and plumbing that contain lead, or that have internal plumbing joined by lead solder.
- In New York City, homes built before 1961 may have lead service lines and plumbing installed before 1987 may contain lead solder.
- Lead primarily enters drinking water because of corrosion of lead-containing plumbing, including pipes that connect household plumbing to the city’s water mains, solder on copper pipes, and faucets.
- When water stands for several hours or more in lead service lines or plumbing systems containing lead, some lead may dissolve into the water.
